RAnniversary time again!

Wow.  It’s been two years since I caught RA Fever (and almost 18 months since I started my blog)!!!  This past year has been a busy one.  I didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted to, crafting wise, but I did manage to do something I never imagined!  I met Richard Armitage!  *giggle* Yeah, that one was on my “Never Gonna Happen” list.  Guess I can scratch that one off!   😉

Last year, I stated that one of my goals was to finish Stitchin’ Richard.  Well, that didn’t happen.  I did get 15,900 out of 26,100 stitches done, though, and finished the first two pages.

Stitchin Richard Two Pages Complete

Pages three and four have a total of 10,200 stitches and they are less complicated.  The coat portion is less detailed so that will go much quicker. This is what it should look like when finished:

RArmitage Finished Chart

I’m hoping to get it finished this summer as I’ve already got my eyes set on the next stitching project.  Yes, Stitchin’ Thorin, I’m looking at you!!!!

The Lils are always looking for an excuse to celebrate, so we had cupcakes this year.  Poor Lil JS had his hands full trying to keep Lil Patty out of the chocolate frosting.  She just doesn’t care that it isn’t good for her!

RAnniversary2013  My Girl remarked that it kinda looks like Lil JS is all raging at Lil Patty for stealing his cupcake.  I said, “JS does NOT rage!”  My husband spoke up and said, “I don’t know, he did rage pretty hard at that dude in the movie.”

Sparkhouse Fight Cap

And here I thought he wasn’t paying attention..!!!

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that he knows the plot, as many times as Sparkhouse has been on our tv! I hope to do better with the posts (I know I’ve said that before lol). Projects help keep me sane; I should know better than to take long breaks. And…the more I work on them, the more projects I’ll be able to do!!!

  7. Congratulations!! 😀 Sounds like a wonderful year… and I’m very impressed with Stitchin’ Richard. I think my last cross-stitch project ended unfinished in… yeah. 1978. My Aunt Joan never got her Christmas sampler. She seems to have forgiven me… but then, it wasn’t a photo of RA. 😉

Thanks! I know how it is with UFOs (UnFinishedObjects) – I have a closet FULL of them!!! “Finished” is so subjective, isn’t it? I “finished” choosing a project, I “finished” sorting the thread, I “finished” stitching page one….lmao. I could go on and on!

Having RA as the subject is just added incentive to actually “finish” the entire project!

Happy RAnniversary! Stitchin’ Richard is looking fabulous and I can’t wait to see the finished product. 🙂 How funny that hubby knows the plot of Sparkhouse, although given your pseudonym it’s fitting he does.

Thanks Jas. It is funny how hubby knows these things. I swear he isn’t paying attention when RA is on the tv. Although, when he’s *not* watching Robin Hood, his running commentary about the characters is downright hysterical!!

I came across your blog from the richardarmitage.net website and I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your encounter with Richard at the Black Sky project. The fear of the Bridget Jones moment made me laugh, and good job on actually speaking to Richard and asking questions, because I know if I ever got within 10 feet of him I would be rendered speechless! I also wanted to say how amazing your stitching of Richard is! It’s absolutely a perfect copy of that picture! I can’t wait to see the finished project (no pressure, though! ha).

I’m glad you enjoyed reading about my Richard encounter….I know I enjoyed experiencing it! 😉 I am sure that if my family hadn’t been there, I would not have had the courage to speak as much as I did.

Isn’t it amazing how computer software can take a photo and turn it into a cross stitch pattern? The detail is incredible. I can’t wait to see the finished project myself!!!
