*shuffles feet nervously*

*peeks shyly into the room*

“Yoo hoo!  Anybody here?”

Yes?  No?  Ah well.  It’s been two full years since I last posted.  That is just messed up.  I don’t know where the time has gone, really.  A lot of World of Warcraft, many e-books, a trip to Florida, and not much cross stitching.  I basically took two years off.  I guess I was burned out, or something.  Just couldn’t get into it.

But…things have changed!  I dug my project out and dusted off the chart.  I’ve had tons of encouragement from a good friend.  I cannot thank her enough.  Truly.  She has been a fantastic cheerleader, and I would not have made this much progress without her.

Many thanks, Snickers’ Mom!!  You are one in a million!!!  *hugs*

SO.  In case there is anyone out there who is still interested, I have progress to report.  For those who don’t know about My Monumental Monet project, this is my inspiration:

The Manneporte (Étretat) 1883, by Claude Monet

Apologies once again for my less than stellar photograph.  I took the picture during a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.  This is my favorite painting by Claude Monet, and I decided to attempt to make a cross stitch version for myself.

In my last post (August 1, 2016 – omg), I showed you the seventh stitched page of the chart:

Seven finished pages!

That page was completed in early May of 2016.  I stitched until August before taking my break.  The next page was more of the rock:

MMMonet; eight pages complete.

(click on any of the images to see them full size in a new tab)

This page was started on May 7, 2016 and finished on June 26, 2016.

Page 8: 91 hours (15 stitching days)
Total stitching hours to date: 782.25
Number of stitches on this page: roughly 7,722
Total stitches completed thus far: roughly 63,315

I also finished page 9 before taking my break from the project.  I hope to have that post up soon.  Since coming back to the project in May of this year, I’ve completed page 10 and am 3/4 of the way through page 11.  I’m really excited to be back in the swing of things!!
